Premiere pro CC crashes when I try to play an MP4 imported file

I have uploaded an MP4 file into my project through the media browser.  I can see the file in the list view.  But when I double click on the file to play the software crashes.  I am able to play the video outside of PP CC with Divx, Windows Media, and Quick Time.
