Good idea, for now, but you'll likely have the same problem come Lr5.8 or Lr6 (although maybe not), so at some point you'll probably have to solve properly.
The likely possibilities are few:
* Lr5.7 not liking your profiles for some reason (least likely, in my opinion).
* The profiles have still not been put in the right place (most likely, I think).
PS - the above mentioned script may help determine which is the case.
