GIF is called CompuServe GIF in the Save As command, and just GIF in the Save For Web dialog box.
It works on my MAC OS 10.9.5

Don't have CC on the MAC.
CC on my Windows 7 PC shows Save As with CompuServe GIF and Save for Web as GIF.
