After spending much of the day with Adobe customer service and reinstalling the Creative Cloud suite, we pinpointed the problem. At this point, with the latest Yosemite update, InDesign does not play nice with separate displays. It's a USB/HDMI gltch. So until Adobe can work out a patch, I need to keep ID windows just on my laptop screen.
