the final export can be anywhere. the cpu will be working overtime and wont be reading the media files as fast as when doing playback in timeline edit. the render/preview files inside the timeline (not export) is a different matter. if you do make any of those files you will want those to be on the ssd. by default they should be saved to same location as project file, can check when making a new project on the scratch disks tab. can also change the auto save location there to somewhere on your internal hdd. then just save the project file on ssd, and if you want, can backup a copy of project file and/or media to your internal 7200rpm. after final export i would also keep final video on both internal and external just for safe keeping until delivered.
