Acrobat 11 Pro installation failed

Downloaded Acrobat 11 Pro to upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard, however when the installation goes on an message appears saying "SETUP HAS DETECTED THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE A MORE FUNCTIONAL PRODUCT INSTALLED. SETUP WILL NOW TERMINATE" and the installation fails to continue. How can the standard version be more functional that the pro version. How should I proceed to get installation?
